Tabu Guestlist on Wednesday: Tabu Is Now Rumour

London Club VIP Tables·2025-01-28·3 min read

Tabu is now Rumour, and public listings show it open on Wednesday nights. The club at 1 Dover Street in Mayfair trades as Rumour, open Wednesday to Saturday from 11pm according to public club listings as of October 2026. Request the Rumour guestlist for your Wednesday through us and we confirm the terms for that night, because Tabu's old guestlist terms do not carry over.

Tabu Is Now Rumour

The Tabu name is no longer used, and this page now covers Rumour. Tabu's ladies-only rule, free drinks and entry fee belonged to the old club; Rumour sets its own.

Joining the Rumour Guestlist on Wednesday

Send us the date, the number of people and whether your group is mixed. We confirm who can join, what entry costs and the latest arrival time for that Wednesday, then add your names. Ask a day or two ahead where you can: midweek lists fill more slowly than weekends, but special nights go quickly. Our London guestlist FAQ explains how guestlists work in general.

Mixed groups and groups of men are usually better served by a Rumour table booking. Rumour sets its own minimum spends and Tabu's old prices do not carry over, so we quote the figure for your date before you commit.

What to Wear and What to Bring

Rumour has not published its own dress code under the new name, so dress to the usual Mayfair standard: smart and elegant. For women that generally means heels or smart boots with a dress or tailored outfit; for men, smart shoes, trousers and a shirt. Sportswear, hoodies, caps and beachwear are refused at Mayfair doors. If you are unsure about an outfit, send it to us before the night and we will check. Our London club dress code guide has the detail.

Mayfair clubs admit over-18s only and check physical ID at the door, so expect the same at Rumour: bring a valid passport or photo driving licence for everyone in your group, because expired ID and photos of ID on a phone are not accepted. Our guide to getting into London clubs without ID covers what the doors accept. Arrive by the time we give you, and sober: a door can turn away a group that arrives drunk.

Other Wednesday Options

These open clubs we book are listed as open on Wednesdays:

  • Dear Darling, Jermyn Street, St James's: hip-hop and mixed music.
  • Cirque le Soir, Ganton Street, Soho: London's most theatrical club.
  • The Box, Walker's Court, Soho: daring performances and a late night.

Time Out's London clubs guide lists what else is on across London midweek.

Tabu: The History

When it traded as Tabu, the club was known for its Tokyo-inspired theme, themed bottle shows, occasional live performances on Wednesdays, and its photogenic powder room and staircase. That was Tabu; Rumour's own look and music have not been confirmed, so do not plan around them.
